LeBlond Makino has developed a shop floor gaging technology using a Brown and Sharpe PCR flexible gage for turnkey run-offs. LeBlond's fully automated turnkey sytem is claimed to be the easiest to implement with real-time statistical assessment which allows continuous monitoring. Immediate warnings are given in case of system failure so that the appropriate adjustments can be made. The system provides one source of control for both manufacturing and gaging.

Renishaw's Machine Checking Gage (MCG) has proven of immeasurable help in the maintenance of accuracy and confidence in the machine tool milling of Giddings & Lewis Automation Technology. The MCG has the capability of calibrating their Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) in 15 minutes, a set of tests that takes 3 hours manually. Thus, the CMM may be calibrated every morning, giving workers and managers more confidence in the quality of their product.
