Machine vision systems
Article Abstract:
Machine vision systems have gained widespread use in manufacturing processes by providing automatic process control. Sales of these systems would reach $906 million by 1995 according to the Automated Imaging Assn. The market has been growing at the rate of 14% for the last five years. Future Technologies Surveys Inc (FTS) predicts that color systems and three-dimensional systems would have a bigger market share over monochromatic and two-dimensional for 1993. FTS believes that personal computers would still be main control system for machine vision systems.

Emerging electronic data storage and retrieval systems simplify use of quality information
Article Abstract:
Quality control on the factory floor usually entails excessive amounts of information. The software/hardware package called Star 1000 is designed to remedy this problem. Star 1000, which was developed by Valor Computerized Systems Ltd of Israel, can integrate all the systems software in the production line and save the data in an optical disk. The package is particularly helpful to electronic manufacturers but other operations with electronic data management can avail of its features.
