Match color measuring tools to your needs
Article Abstract:
Manufacturers must use color measuring tools that match their business applications. Whether it is handheld or benchtop, the key is to select the instrument that addresses the firm's production needs. The differences between handheld and benchtop spectrophotometers are relevant to the purchasing decision, that is why manufacturers need to determine which type of color measuring instrument will provide consistent results. The key difference is that handheld spectrophotometers are portable while benchtop spectrophotometers are stationary.

Measuring special-effect colors
Article Abstract:
Several factors need to be considered when portable spectrophotometers are used to analyze and evaluate pearlescent or special effect colors. During color matching, for instance, problems may arise when colors are measured at points where different kinds of materials are joined together, or when flat and curved parts come in direct contact. Sample readings may also vary as a result of the effects of metal flake orientation on source light reflection.
