Article Abstract:

Quality professionals were asked about their job searching experiences on the Internet. The first respondent was formerly working for the federal government when he found a better job opportunity through America's Job bank, which contained a listing og several job openings. He finally got a job at a semiconductor company after some months of job searching. The second respondent is still searching for a job through Career Path and other newspaper Web sites. However, the third respondent got his job by applying directly after futile attempts of job searching through the Web.

The Society of Quality Control Engineers had one magazine in the name of Industrial Quality Control which was initially published in 1944. However, as the Society's membership increased in 1965, a need for another magazine was evident. Thus, in 1967, Quality Prgress emerged with its mission to provide material covering the wide spectrum of quality-related sciences with an emphasis on applications of an engineering, production or management nature.

Overlook hospital emergency department: Meeting the competition with quality

Article Abstract:

The Overlook Hospital Emergency Department was the same as other US health care facilities in the US in 1993, with goals set by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The department implemented an industrial model of quality management as a way of improving a range of clinical processes. It initially reduced treatment time from 66 minutes to 44.6 minutes, with further decreases ranging between 15-26 minutes.
