More voices speak out on the future of the quality profession

Readers responding to a request for their reactions in the July 1996 special issue of the magazine 'Quality Progress' believe that the demand for quality professionals will increase. However, opportunities will be available to only those specialists who make proper adjustments. Quality professionals are constantly changing and updating their knowledge. Some organizations are trying to improve their quality and enhance customer satisfaction. Others have succeeded in their quality improvement programs.

'Quality Progress' remains committed to quality improvement as can be gleaned from its 1995 report to readers. The advertising sales staff targeted six improvement areas, including data analysis, strategic planning, customers' needs and department training. Deadlines topped the editorial department's improvement list while the circulation staff made a commitment to modernize the subscription processes.
