Point cloud data in minutes
Article Abstract:
Computer aided measurement,, a new unique 3D laser scanning device that scans 120,000 points per second in a full 360-degre envelope generating high quality point cloud data in a matter of minutes is presented. The 3D scanner sends an infra-red beam into the center mirror, which rotates at 40,000rpm, deflecting the laser around the environment to be scanned and on contact the beam is then reflected back into the scanner measuring the distance from the laser to the object.

Polymer chain is lube-free
Article Abstract:
Renold Chain has developed the 'Syno' polymer bush chain, a range of lubricant-free chain products that are quieter and less harmful to the environment than their steel counterparts. The chains are also capable of working in harsh environments, including industries in which frequent wash down or lubricant contamination is a problem.
