Lead reporting threshold lowered
Article Abstract:
The US Environmental Protection Agency has decided to lower the thresholds for lead and lead compounds that are subject to reporting under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act of 1986 and the Pollution Prevention Act of 1990. The agency lowered the thresholds to 100 lb for almost all entities with SIC codes of 10 or 20 through 39 and to certain industry codes. However, the changes do not apply to lead in stainless steel, brass and bronze alloys.
