The pursuit of quality through personal change
Article Abstract:
Initiating a process of change within an organization requires understanding oneself and other members with respect to existing relationships and the hierarchy. Seven basic steps in this process, from problem identification to appraisal, have to be complemented with sensitivity to varying behavior styles and development of interpersonal skills. Crucial to all these is making the proper approach to managers in an effort to get management support for plans, without which projects are bound to fail. Change does set in quickly but with defined goals and the proper attitude, it can be achieved.

The pursuit of quality through personal change
Article Abstract:
Continuous improvement involves pointing out problems, planning a course of action and acting to solve the problem. An important factor in quality improvement is personal change, but fear of either success or failure can deter the pursuit of improvement. Overcoming fear, setting priorities and incorporating problem analysis, data collection, data interpretation and result evaluation into the quality improvement process are recommended steps in continuous improvement. Tools in continuous quality improvement are also discussed.
