Topics include healthy and natural foods. The Gatherer, at www.kippewa-gardens.com/cg-bin/Gatherer.pl, a multiple-database search engine on various uses for plants is devoted mostly to natural medicines and other remedies, but also directs to Native American recipes. Princeton Univ., at www.princeton.edu/~mcbrown/display/hall.html in its The Faces of Science: African Americans in the Sciences details preservative-developing research of Lloyd Hall. Environmed Research (West Vancouver, BC), at its commercial site has easy-to-read summaries of common health problems related to diet/nutrition/allergies/environment.

Article Abstract:
The Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH) awarded $1.1 mil in grants in 2000 to cut down on the monthly cost of new housing by at least 20% by 2010. The Building and Fire Research Laboratory (BFRL) at the Natl. Inst. for Standards and Technology (NIST) announced this. The grants are to encourage companies that produce new housing construction materials. Three kinds of new construction materials produced by recipient companies are discussed and materials found by searching the US Patent and Trademark Office Web site are discusses. Various accomplishments around the world are covered. Topics include lighting and heat, clean houses, into which germ/dust-fighting materials are incorporated, preparing for disasters/attack, and the unusual.
