Two-way converter eases voltage mixing
Article Abstract:
New power converters can convert one voltage to another and have been developed mainly for the specialist motor vehicle and mobile plant markets. They are suitable for systems in vehicles that need 12 or 24VDC, for pumps, electronics and refrigeration plant. They could also be used for tractor ssemi-trailer combinations. Power control systems are made by Antares developed in conjunction with LDV for use in ambulances.

More for less - 2D or 3D
Article Abstract:
Most UK engineers are looking for low-cost CAD systems which run on Macs or PCs. A Computing Suppliers Federation survey of 500 CAD users in 1995 showed that 53% used PCs, 22% Macs and 19% UNIX systems. The popularity of budget-priced CAD systems is partly due to the fact that, except for complex tasks, Macs and PCs can now produce 3D and photorealistic shaded graphics easily and at low cost.
