The imperative for organizations in major industries to do faster, better, and cheaper is discussed. To meet these objectives, improvement is the way to get things done. The following improvement frameworks are presented: define, measure, analyze, improve, and control (DMAIC); plan-do-check-act (PDCA); seven-step process; 8D; and lean principles.
