Vector analyzers pare test time
Article Abstract:
Rohde and Schwarz Inc of Munich, Germany, has rolled out a powerful line of vector analyzers that have sweep speeds of as fast as 125 us/pointfor normalized measurements. Called the ZVR family of vector network analyzers, it includes five instruments in various configurations at frequency ranges of 10kHz to 4 GHz and 20 kHz to 8 GHz. The ZVR line of analyzers provides features that speeds up testing, such as the capacility to define different segments in a sweep, and the AutoKal option that supports calibrations in around 20 s using only a through standard.

Instrument recovers 50-to-2500-Mb/s rates
Article Abstract:
Broadband Communication Products Inc of Melbourne, FL, has introduced its model 510A universal clock/data-recovery unit. The product provides an operating rate of 50 to 2500 Mb/s supporting all Synchronous Optical Network and synchronous-digital-hierarchy rates. The model provides automatic acquisition of SONET, SDH, pseudorandom-bit-sequence and scrambled non-return-to-zero signals within a fraction of a second.
