Waveform analyzers: making an educated choice
Article Abstract:
Increasing demands for high-performance products, environmental policies and use of solid-state applications in production have generated more complicated and stringent physical measurement and testing requirements. Waveform analyzers offer superior features in signal generation, digital conversion, data handling and analysis. They enable users to overcome the usual constraints in time-domain and frequency-domain measurements, and process or materials testing. Waveform analyzer capabilities can be maximized when used with recent innovations in software and hardware technology.

Microwave system tests solids
Article Abstract:
CEM Corp's LabWave 9000 solids analyzer uses chemical processors to perform process control adjustments, and can be useful for batch corrections, on-line monitor calibrations and production time reduction. Because the unit brings together both solids analysis and microwave drying functions, it can be used for safely drying quickly evaporating or flammable solvents, in addition to testing a wide range of substances from polymers to sealants. Allows 1% increments in microwave power control.

Customers have the ears of Keithley's Engineers
Article Abstract:
Keithley Instruments Inc has developed an Engineering Rotation Program that exposes design engineers to customer feedback and product design concepts. After a few months at the applications department, the firm's engineers realized that customers preferred to rely on built-in features on the front panels of their computers rather than on manuals. The program has also brought about quality improvement of the department due to the informal interactions between engineering and applications.
