An investigation into ambient levels of traffic-related pollutants in urban centres: a case study of the Seagate, Dundee, United Kingdom
Article Abstract:
Scientists monitored ambient levels of five traffic-related pollutants in the Seagate urban area of Dundee, UK, over a two-week period. The pollutants were carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, nitric oxide, total suspended particulates and total organic hydrocarbons. The survey revealed that the levels of none of these pollutants ever breached air quality regulatory standards set by the European Community or the Expert Panel on Quality Standards. However, the survey proposes traffic management measures for the area which would ensure that conditions do not occur which would cause pollutant levels to rise.

Patterns in wildlife-vegetation association matrices
Article Abstract:
Correspondence analysis was used to investigate the patterns of species-vegetation associations of vertebrate species found in the northeastern US. It was found that refinement of the classification used in a species-vegetation matrix can affect the pattern and strength of the associations among the species and vegetation cover types. The importance of using attribution rules for landscape and biological delineations were cited significant for conservation decision-making.
