Changing soil hydrology due to rain forest logging: an example from Sabah Malaysia
Article Abstract:
Four major hydrological changes from logged rain forest and undisturbed forest of Sabah, Malaysia, were observed. Saturated soil moisture content, saturated hydraulic conductivity, soil moisture retention curves and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity functions of these areas were compared. Observed differences suggest a focus on various forms of soil erosion control mechanisms.

Rehabilitation of a lowland river: reconciling flood defence with habitat diversity and geomorphological sustainability
Article Abstract:
Research into the suitability of a number of hydraulic models to assess the performance of rehabilitation measures designed for the River Idle in Nottinghamshire, England, is presented. Hydraulic modelling of local flood conveyance capacity showed that the enhancement measures led to a loss of conveyance of only around 10% at flows close to the bankfull stage.
