Crab spiders deter insect visitations to slickspot peppergrass flowers
Article Abstract:
The number of visitations by insects on plants with a crab spider to those without is compared to evaluate whether insects foraging on the flowers avoided plants harboring a predator. The results revealed no significant change in the duration of visits to plants harboring a spider, implying either that the visitors were oblivious to the predator's presence, or that they were aware of the predator but kept their distance.

Patterns of interaction between plants and pollinators along an environmental gradient
Article Abstract:
Species diversity and generalization of interactions of flower visitors belonging to eight p-p networks along a steep rainfall gradient in NW Patagonia, Argentina is analyzed. Regional patterns in the structure of the p-p systems were better explained by altitudinal differences, while function seemed to be more influenced by precipitation.
