Seasonal time constraints do not explain exceptions in the temperature size rule in ectotherms
Article Abstract:
Atkinson's hypothesis that the temperature size rule (TSR) could break down when seasonal time constraints impose tight limits on emergence of adult mayflies, is tested by simulating seasonally changing abiotic cues as closely as possible to those experienced in the field by a mayfly whose lifecycle satisfied the assumptions of the time-constraints hypothesis. Results showed no evidence that seasonal constraints explained any of the violations of TSR in aquatic ectotherms.

Differential response of tellimagrandin II and total bioactive hydrolysable tannins in an aquatic angiosperm to changes in light and nitrogen
Article Abstract:
The total concentration of phenolic compounds, the exudation of phenolic compounds and the tellimagrandin II in plant tissue are investigated. The impact of light and nitrogen on the production and release of total polyphenols and tellimagrandin II is examined.
