Dancing between the devil and deep blue sea: The stabilizing effect of enemy-free and victimless sinks
Article Abstract:
An investigation of the dynamical implications of spatial heterogeneity created by enemy-free sinks or victimless sinks is presented. The results show that the coupling of a sink created by unstable enemy-victim interactions and a sink created by unsuitable environmental conditions can result in population persistence at the landscape level.

Relating niche and spatial overlap at the community level
Article Abstract:
The effect of competitive interactions on community structure is confirmed by several well-known reviews of field experiments on interspecific competition. The niche of the species is described by microhabitat use and morphometry.

From simple rules to cycling in community assembly
Article Abstract:
The phenomena of sequential invasions and cycling between sub-communities are analyzed. The dynamic instability of these cycles in the population phase space is discussed.
