Environmental and economic evaluation of natural capital appropriation through building construction: practical case study in the Italian context
Article Abstract:
A study evaluating the environmental consequences of human settlement by comparing the ecological footprints of two typical Italian buildings is presented. Also an economic evaluation of natural capital appropriation through building construction is proposed to allocate an environmental load of buildings.

The impacts of coal mining in Shenmu County, the Loess Plateau, China
Article Abstract:
The lack of any environmental regulation of coal mines in Shenmu County, China has caused lasting destruction on the environment. Not only has the land been harmed by mining, pollution of the soil, water and air have resulted. China needs to implement some controls to protect the environment.
