Interspecific interactions and biomass allocation among grassland plant species
Article Abstract:
The effects of plant species mixture versus monocultures on the production of shoots and of roots of other species for three soil depth layers are examined. Competition has the potential to enforce resource partitioning between coexisting plant species by the inducement of different species to root at different depths to each other.

Local interactions, dispersal, and native and exotic plant diversity along a California stream
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that native and invasive plant species colonization is linked to competitive interactions, the level of resident species diversity, and seed supply. Data were obtained from experiments with plant species on tussocks in a California stream.
