No evidence for a role of pollinator discrimination in causing selection on flower size through female reproduction
Article Abstract:
The importance of flower size for pollinator visitation rate, seed set and seed mass in two alphine populations of the insect-pollinated herb Ranunculus acris L was examined. Although pollinators discriminate strongly among floral phenotypes, this may not always result in female fitness differences within a population.

Article Abstract:
The major constraints of the gravimetry method as it pertains to the physiological between processes of both the insect and plant are described. The analysis reveals that gravimetry has given rise to physiologically unlikely results for poikilothermic insects.
