Hungry predators render predator-avoidance behavior in tadpoles ineffective
Article Abstract:
The prediction that highly active predators impose a mortality risk similar to active and inactive prey, while inactive predators represent a higher threat for active prey than for inactive prey, is reviewed in this study. An experiment is conducted by manipulating activity of poolfrog tadpoles and exposing them to three species of predators.

Coexistence of specialist parasitoids with host refuges in the laboratory and the dynamics of spatial heterogeneity in attack rate
Article Abstract:
The influence of refuges on parasitoid coexistence using pairs of specialist parasitoids is examined in a controlled laboratory experiment. The argument that the level of spatial heterogeneity necessary to promote coexistence is rare in nature, is also discussed.

The influence of varying spatial heterogeneity on the refuge model for coexistence of specialist parasitoid assemblages
Article Abstract:
A model designed to explain specialist parasitoid coexistence on insect hosts with various levels of refuge is examined. The effects of varying spatial heterogeneity are also evaluated.
