Impact of released Eurasian otters on a population of American mink: A test using an experimental approach
Article Abstract:
The diets and densities of mink and otter at two points in time, in the mid-seventies and late nineties, at a single location on the river Teign are compared. Results suggest that mink should be able to coexist for longer with the otter in areas where there are abundant alternative prey species that are not exploited by its competitor.

Coyote prey selection and community stability during a decline in food supply
Article Abstract:
The foraging behavior of coyotes in the Alaska Range during the peak and decline of a snowshoe hare population cycle is studied. Coyote diet is compared with prey availability to test for changes in prey selection to examine the effect of coyote predation on the vertebrate prey community.

Differential habitat use promotes sustainable coexistence between the specialist otter and the generalist mink
Article Abstract:
Differential habitat use as a potential mechanism for the coexistence of two competing riparian mammals, the Eurasian otter and the American mink are analysed. Habitat heterogeneity plays an important role in determining the likelihood of coexistence of American mink and Eurasian otters.
