Modeling the effects of land use change on the water temperature in unregulated urban streams
Article Abstract:
A Critical Urban Stream Temperature (CrUSTe) model, a combination of stream temperature and three component models, was presented. The component models were the riparian vegetation removal model, the stream morphology model and the base flow model. The CrUSTe model allows the prediction of stream temperature change as a result of amount, type and location of urbanization within a watershed, making it a potential valuable tool for environmental managers.

Modelling hydroenvironmental and health risk assessment parameters along the South Wales Coast
Article Abstract:
The complex hydroenvironmental computer models are used for predicting flow, water quality and sediment transport processes in coastal, estuarine and inland waters. The limitations and restrictions of both physical and numerical hydraulic models used in the planning and management of aquatic basins along the South Wales coast are discussed.

A system dynamics model to facilitate public understanding of water management options in Las Vegas, Nevada
Article Abstract:
The process of building a strategic-level system dynamics model to increase public understanding of the value of water conservation in Las Vegas is described. It is concluded that this model can be used in workshops and can stimulate stakeholder interest in the structure of the system.
