Nitrogen and phosphorus in mire plants: Variation during 50 years in relation to supply rate and vegetation type
Article Abstract:
A study aims to reveal changes in the Sphagnum mire vegetation with respect to the performance of the plants and in the concentrations of N and P in the photosynthesizing plant tissue over a period of nearly 50 years of increased. The results revealed that as the increased N deposition has directly influenced only the growth of the Sphagnum mosses and that the effects on the growth of the vascular plants are indirect.

Larger capsules enhance short-range spore dispersal in Sphagnum, but what happens further away?
Article Abstract:
Short-range spore deposition patterns in Sphagnum that corresponds to within-community processes from discrete patch sources under natural conditions, using spore capsules from six species of various spore and capsule sizes is tested. It is suggested that with increasing isolation of target sites, the higher the proportion of spores would originate from sources farther away than the nearest sources.

Interferences between Sphagnum and vascular plants: effects on plant community structure and peat formation
Article Abstract:
The interference between vascular plants and peat mosses with respect to nitrogen and phosphorus in a fertilization experiment was examined. The Sphagnum mosses are like ecological engineers that structure the plant community and determine the carbon balance of the system.
