Non-additivity among multiple cues of predation risk: A behaviorally-driven trophic cascade between owls and songbirds
Article Abstract:
A study to test whether nest predation rates are correlated with moonlight or experimental playbacks of barred owl calls is presented, by examining the effects of increased perceived predation risk on space use by white-footed mice. The non-lethal effects of predatory risk on mice, that is, changes in space use cascade to affect their prey and the predation risk has the potential to significantly and indirectly affect songbird nest predation rates.

Linking frequencies of acorn masting in temperate forests to long-term population growth rates in a songbird: the veery (Catharus fuscescens)
Article Abstract:
The reproductive success of veeries (Catharus fuscescens) breeding in oak-dominated forest in southeastern New York State from 1998 to 2002 is described. The potential of temporal variability in masting dynamics to substantially influence songbird population trends is discussed.

Incidental predation, enemy-free space and the coexistence of incidental prey
Article Abstract:
Many communities consist of a generalist predator consuming multiple prey species whose persistence is threatened through the indirect effect of apparent competition. The degree to which the predators and prey coincide in space at the same time is discussed.
