Salmonid population dynamics: Stability under weak density dependence?
Article Abstract:
Lobon-Cervia and Rincon concluded that there was little or no evidence of density-dependent regulation by testing for significant departures from linearity in stock-recruitment curves. An argument that these conclusions should be treated cautiously is presented and alternative interpretations, which are more consistent with theory, and empirical research, are suggested.

Layering, the effective density of mussels and mass-density boundary curves
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted in which the relationships among layering, mass and density using 253 samples of natural matrices of the mussel P. Purpuratus from central and northern Chile were described. The effects of layering in mussel beds on the scaling of mass and density were discussed.
