Selecting indicators for assessing sustainable land management
Article Abstract:
A selection of indicators monitoring the sustainability of a production system are addressed. Sustainable land management is defined using the objectives of productivity, protection, security, acceptability and viability. Areas of concern are defined as those factors capable of influencing the ability of a production system to meet the objectives. It is concluded that sustainable land management indicators should be sensitive to management actions, and must have identified threshold values.

Grey relation analysis of carbon dioxide emissions from industrial production and energy uses in Taiwan
Article Abstract:
Grey relation analysis (GRA) was used to examine how energy-induced CO(sub2) emissions from industries in Taiwan are affected by production, total energy consumption, coal, oil, gas and electricity uses. It was found that the causal relationships of the 3 Es systems are revealed by GRA in spite of insufficient data. GRA was found to provide a viable alternative to data collection in Taiwan, or other less-developed countries.

Risk management-the Swedish way(s)
Article Abstract:
Three legal and administrative systems of risk management in Sweden were compared. The issues were general organization, regulatory activities, and enforcement activities, and major differences were found. Many of the differences were due to lack of coordination between the three areas. Lower priority was assigned to enforcement activities in the environmental than in the occupational health sector.
