The Area Production Model: a tool and concept for sustainable land-use and forest-resource management
Article Abstract:
An evaluation is presented on the Area Production Model, an environmental assessment tool that depicts forestry and agricultural consumption dynamics within a specified geographical region. The model factors in assumptions of land use, management, macroeconomic and socioeconomic changes, and is applied to forestry policy in Laos as an example.

A note on the use of the analytic hierarchy process for environmental impact assessment

The analytic hierarchy process is examined for its accuracy and feasibility in addressing environmental and socio-economic impacts of development projects. The method handles a variety of actors, incorporates expert opinions and combines qualitative and quantitative factors, and can be used as a tool to guide stakeholder analysis.

A critique of EPA's index of watershed indicators

The author suggests that using multiattribute utility theory can resolve interpretation and consistency problems within the index of watershed indicators, an index created by the US Environmental Protection Agency to assess water quality.
