The MAB mushroom study as a teaching case example of interdisciplinary and sustainable forestry research
Article Abstract:
The economic and environmental studies used to devise sustainable development strategies for Washington state have provided a model for future research and teaching. The studies included input from land managers, biologists, government volunteers, commercial interests and social scientists, and established interrelationships between these concerns. This process can be used by other groups such as students and resource managers.

A pipeline from the Okavango River?
Article Abstract:
The request for permission to build a pipeline from the Okavango River to Namibia surprised the government of Botswana. Namibia, Botswana and Angola had agreed to jointly govern the river's resources. The persistence of the Nambia government may have permanently damaged the alliance between the three countries.

The use of the valuable oyster mushroom, Pleurotus sajor-caju, for conversion of waste materials produced from seaweed and brewing industries: preliminary investigations
Article Abstract:
An overview is presented on Namibian mushroom culture using brewery and seaweed aquaculture wastes. Mushrooms were found to grow even on high-salinity substrates, a valuable finding as it reduces dependency on fresh water for production.
