The effect of prey abundance and foraging tactics on the population dynamics of a social, territorial carnivore, the spotted hyena
Article Abstract:
A naturally occurring spatial and temporal change in prey abundance was used to investigate whether the foraging behavior of a social, territorial carnivore, the spotted hyena, conformed to predictions derived from the ideal free distribution. A system with rank related access to food resources in the territory, females of low social status foraged more often outside their territory and were more likely to emigrate than dominant females.

Effects of nectar robbing on nectar dynamics and bumblebee foraging strategies in Linaria vulgaris (Scrophulariaceae)
Article Abstract:
Various aspects of pollination and nectar robbing ecology of Linaria vulgaris in the Colorado Rocky Mountains is observed with emphasis on the role of bumblebee proboscis length. Despite the potentially detrimental effects of robbers, differences in inflorescence use among robbers and pollinators, and the placement of holes made by primary robbers might mitigate negative effects of nectar robbing in Linaria vulgaris.

Niche partitioning in the cestode communities of two elasmobranchs
Article Abstract:
An investigation on the influence of competitive interactions in shaping parasite community structure is conducted using several randomization methods. It is concluded that cestode communities are structured deterministically in a way consistent with expectations based on competition.
