The role of population in understanding Honduran land use patterns
Article Abstract:
A statistical analysis at 'supra-local' level was used to test whether biophysical, climatic, and socioeconomic factors need to be considered when distribution of land use is to be understood. It is suggested that for a specific window of temporal and spatial scale, land use patterns can be described with very simple relationships, with a strong contribution of population density.

The consequences of land use change on nutrient exports: A regional scale assessment in southwest Victoria, Australia
Article Abstract:
A discussion of the estimation of nutrient load production based on multi-temporal remotely land use data for the Glenelg-Hopkins region in southwest Victoria, Australia is presented. Changes in land use were also mapped using archived Landsat data and computerized classification techniques.

Effects of climate and land use changes on groundwater resources in coastal aquifers
Article Abstract:
A numeral model based on the sharp interface assumption, which can examine changes in groundwater loss due to climate change and salinity intrusion, is presented.
