An executive from General Electric examines the Six Sigma framework for quality health care that was developed by the manufacturing industry. The framework promotes an understanding of customer expectations based on a total quality management perspective. It supports reductions in costs and the development of mistake-free, customer-oriented processes through a continuous cycle of Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control.
