The Wine Spectator Auction index for 1998's fourth quarter shows that sales were up 2.7%. The figures reflect holiday sales and consumer confidence following the stock market rebound. However, the figures reflect that wine sales were down 10% from 1997 figures. The outlook for 1999 remains positive.
