Gallo's big gamble

Gallo must overcome an image of being a bulk wine producer in order to market successfully its fine new Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines, priced at $30 and $60, are rated as excellent. Julio Gallo had a fatal accident on May 2, 1993.

Looking ahead to wine's future
Article Abstract:
The wine industry needs to concentrate on marketing more to new wine drinkers, as the anti-alcohol sentiment in the US is diminishing. Only by increasing the number of wine drinkers can be vintners remain solvent in a competitive business.
