D.R. Stephens: A new classic is born in Napa Valley

Don R. Stephens, a San Francisco real estate investor, owns D.R. Stephens Estate that has produced the D.R. Stephens Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 Napa Valley Moose Valley Vineyard, which scored 95 points on the "Wine Spectator" 100-point scale. Don and Trish Stephens use grapes from their family vineyard, Laird Family Estate, which lies at the base of Howell Mountain near Meadowood Resort.

Napa Valley Cabernet by way of Persia
Article Abstract:
Most winemakers in the Napa Valley area of California have been inspired by France, but Iranian Darioush Khaledi took his from Persia. His Darioush Winery is being renovated in a Persian style, but his winemaking is more traditional.
