America's new home winemakers

Approximately 2.5 million cases of wine were made at home by 400,000 Americans in 1991. This trend is growing for both economic and creative reasons. Several home winemakers are profiled, and tips on getting started making one's own wine are offered.

Napa Valley's New Orleans-style celebration

Mondavi wines were the stars of the auction, which raised $1.25 million for St. Helena Hospital and other charities. Participants enjoyed Dixieland jazz and traditional New Orleans food, including a dish made by famed chef Paul Prudhomme.
