The origin of drinking?: Some scientists believe humans evolved to enjoy alcohol
Article Abstract:
The possible evolutionary origins of drinking are explored with an aim to examine the relationship among humans, alcohol and health. Robert Dudley, a biomechanics professor believes that since ethanol widely found in ripe fruit, existed before humans, there must be a historical perspective on the term alcoholism.

Red wine extract extends shelf life of fruit

Trans-resveratrol, an antioxidant found in grape skins, has been found to extend the shelf life of fruit. By dipping fruit in trans-resveratrol, researchers at Compultense University in Madrid, Spain, found fruit remained fresh longer.
