Million-dollar ante: Leflaive to make its first Montrachet
Article Abstract:
Vintner Olivier Leflaive purchased two-tenths of an acre of grand cru vineyard in Puligny-Montrachet from Domaine Rene Fleurot, paying between $800,000 and $1.2 million. The Montrachet win will sell for between $300 and $400 a bottle, but it will still take Leflaive 15 years to break even.
