The differences between vintages when assessing wines is usually as much to do with style as it is quality. Issues concerning the assessment of Burgundy wines from different years are presented, with reference to the importance of leaving wines to mature before assigning a vintage rank to them.

Malmsey: a Greek classic
Article Abstract:
Malmsey wine was a Cretan wine which other parts of Europe discovered as early as the 13th century. It was named after the Greek port Monemvasia and was known as Malvoisie to the French. Efforts have been underway in Sitia, Greece to revive the dark red wine which has not existed for 200 years.
