Nutrient intake as a time signal for circadian rhythm
Article Abstract:
The relation of meal patterns and circadian rhythm in higher animals was reviewed. The enzymatic and other response to food served to signal the circadian rhythm and was noted to be controlled by meal intake in 24 hours within the signal's range. Important time signals were the day-night, sleep-awake, and eating time. Eating patterns were associated with proportional increase in metabolic functions. The genetic influences of circadian rhythm offered a more plausible explanation than exogenous signals. Biochemical agents such as clock proteins may also regulate the cyclic rhythm and anatomic control lies in the suprachiasmic nucleus of the brain.

Introduction
Article Abstract:
The part that oxidative stress plays in alcoholic liver disease remains a largely debatable one and requires more intensive research to generate definitive results. One principal reason for such uncertainty is the premise maintained by some experimental scientists that chronic exposure to ethanol causes hepatoxic effects regardless of the presence of other factors such as malnutrition.
