Nutrition education assessment of classroom teachers in Nevada: status, resources and preferences
Article Abstract:
Northwestern Nevada elementary and secondary teachers were surveyed to determine the status of school-based nutrition education. The survey revealed that 68% of the educators incorporate nutrition in their lessons and that lack of class time and nutrition education resources are the main deterrents. The survey also indicated that educators support a school-wide program to enhance nutrition education and that continuous education programs enhance teachers' participation.
