Bravo for old buildings!
Article Abstract:
Many old buildings were demolished in Canada as part of urban renewal efforts which began in the 1950s. However, citizens soon began efforts to protect and restore these buildings. Despite their successes, a federal heritage preservation law has yet to be enacted today.

Childhood diseases are back

Several children in Canada are being stricken by measles, chicken pox, whooping cough and meningitis. Inoculation programs have been implemented but parents must still know how to recognize the symptoms of these illnesses and seek the appropriate treatment.
