Legion's NEC targets nation's moral decay

Members of the American Legion raised concerns over the dwindling membership rate of the organization during the 2-day NEC meeting in Indianapolis, IN. Although the group's budget recorded a surplus of about $14 million, participation among veterans and service organizations has been minimal.

Citizens Flag Alliance Chairman Patrick Brady declared his plan to lead in the campaign for the amendment of the law protecting the flag in the 1996 Washington Conference of the American Legion. National security and foreign relations were also discussed.

Indianapolis, IN, will host the 77th National Convention of the American Legion on Aug. 31 to Sep. 6, 1995. It will be the second time during a five-year period that the Circle City will be the site of the Legionnaires' annual gathering.
