Vice President Al Gore is standing by President Clinton and being cautious that Clinton's problems will not interfere with his own presidential ambitions. His response to President Clinton's problems has been to hold on and support him. No one knows what Al Gore thinks of the President in his private life, but within his close friends and family, there is a sense that Gore will be a better president just by virtue of his discipline.
