Search for the lost city of the sands
Article Abstract:
Archeologist Nick Clapp searched in old history books to locate an ancient city that served as a trading post in the Arabian desert. He then organized an expedition to follow the faint lines found in the satellite images of the desert and eventually found pottery fragments that proved his theories o the city's existence.

"Get out of the truck!" (traffic accident heroism)
Article Abstract:
Lyle Schweighardt and Keith Doepker were driving a one-ton flatbed truck when accident struck. The truck caught fire with Doepker in it. Schweighardt rescued him. He was awarded the Governor-General's Medal of Bravery in June 17, 1994 and the Carnegie Medal eight months later.

Three children were swimming in the Ontario River when two of them were swept away by a strong current. Disregarding his own safety, 39-year-old Dwight McMillan succeeded in rescuing both boys from drowning.
