The bladder: cystectomy and ileal conduit to treat cancer
Article Abstract:
The incidences of bladder cancer are increasing and classic symptoms include painless haematuria. Treatment depends on the tumour, node, metastasis (TNM) classification and the size of the tumour, but can include radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgical intervention. Post operative urinary output monitoring is critical, and rehabilitation will depend on the patient's acceptance of a stoma.
