The forgotten president: Never widely popular as a leader, Franklin Pierce still gets little respect

Franklin Pierce though is a non popular president in American History, his lack of recognition should not be surprising, considering some of his claims to fame as president are hardly political milestones. The bicentennial of Pierce's birth is an opportunity to reopen his history recognizing his identification as a president.
