Article Abstract:
Monty Roberts of Salinas, CA, is an unconventional horse trainer. Roberts learned the body language of horses, which he named Equus, when he was still a child. Roberts uses body language and eye contact in training horses which takes only about a few hours than the traditional 3-week horsebreaking.

The caramel-colored Easy Goer and the black-coated Sunday Silence were the two horses most favored to win at the 1989 Kentucky Derby. Their rivalry sparked one of the most exciting races in history. In the end, Sunday Silence emerged as the winner.

Horse trainer Wayne Lukas' son, Jeff, was almost killed when a rambunctious colt named, Tabasco Cat, ran over him. Through hardwork and determination, however, Lukas was able to train Tabasco Cat, which won the 1994 Kentucky Derby.
