California voters take charge
Article Abstract:
The Public Policy Institute of California assessed the views of the voters on the election and on the recall process itself following on the heels of the recall election in California, The survey indicated that whilst the voters appreciated having the power to remove a public official from office, they felt there was room for improvement in the conduct of political campaigns as well as in the recall process.

Voters nostalgic for a good old-fashion campaign

Political campaigns in California have gotten worse over the past ten years, according to 42% of California adults and 54% of likely voters, in a Public Policy Institute of California Statewide Survey. Voter turnout in California was near the bottom in a 50-state comparison.
